Day Treatment and Training - Adults (DTA)
Our Services
Welcome to Our Day Treatment for Adults (DTA) Program
At Peace Living, we are committed to enriching the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through our comprehensive Day Treatment for Adults (DTA) program. Our goal is to enhance our participants’ abilities in key areas of their lives, including personal care, socialization, motor skills, communication, and engagement in community and leisure activities. With a focus on both skill development and enjoyment, our program is designed to foster growth, independence, and a vibrant sense of community
• Personalized Experiences: Each participant receives a tailored experience based on their unique needs and personal goals, established through the Individual Service Plan (ISP) process. Our dedicated staff works closely with participants to help them achieve these goals, emphasizing choice and individual preference.
• Skill Development: Our facility offers a range of structured activities aimed at improving gross and fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, attention to tasks, teamwork, and responsiveness to supervision. These activities serve as a foundation for vocational training and are complemented by socialization and leisure experiences to enhance community awareness.
• Community Integration: An essential aspect of our DTA program is the utilization of community resources as experiential learning environments. Participants have the opportunity to visit museums, parks, theaters, gardens, farms, and more, allowing them to explore and learn about the diverse offerings available to them.
• Recreational Activities: Our program includes a wide variety of recreational activities such as games, sports, arts and crafts, and performing arts. We also host speakers on various topics and organize local outings and longer adventures to promote enjoyment and lifelong learning.
• Specialized Services: We offer specialized door-to-door transportation within certain geographic areas to ensure accessibility for all participants. Our staff drivers are trained in specialized techniques to accommodate the unique needs of our participants, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey to and from our program.
• Therapeutic Environment: We are able to provide a supportive and positive therapeutic environment, assisting participants in maintaining their skills and providing physical or supportive assistance as needed.
• Inclusive Participation: Our program is open to all adults with disabilities, whether they receive state funding or not. For those not funded by the state, we offer a Drop-in Program, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to benefit from our services.
